Until last year, I had never spent quality time in Mexico City. On a whim I booked a last minute flight and was more than pleasantly surprised by this bustling city. Mexico City is a cosmopolitan city just bubbling with art, culture, history, and charm!
I started my trip by spending a few days in the historic center.
And wandered around exploring the Palacio Bellas Artes and the surrounding parks.
My favorite was rooftop drinks at La Terraza for a very romantic end to a perfect few days in the historic center.
Next I headed out to Roma Norte and stayed there for a few days to enjoy the charm and elegance of Roma and La Condesa.
The architecture in these neighborhoods is just mesmerizing! I love the many parks, tree-lined streets, and cafés just begging to be explored.
I particularly loved the street art in Roma and Condesa!
A must see on my itinerary was seeing the Frida Kahlo Museum. So I ventured out to Coyoacan to visit The Blue House.
After the museum I strolled around the Coyoacan neighborhood and fell in love with the cobblestone streets, plazas, restaurants, and entertaining street vendors.
I took a half day trip to Xochimilco to visit the canals and gondolas.
I took another half day trip to take a hot air balloon ride over the Teotihuacan Pyramids and then toured the pyramids themselves. The whole experience was fantastic and a major highlight to the whole trip!
Over to you! What’s your favorite part about Mexico City?
