Let me tell you a little secret….I used to HATE Valentine’s Day. It didn’t help that I didn’t have a significant relationship until I was 21. Being perpetually single in high school and most of college was something that was not fun. Like, at all. You begin to question everything about yourself like, am I not attractive? Am I boring? What is wrong with me?! Maybe I should try to be more like *her*. To me, Valentine’s Day was a holiday I dreaded because while everyone else was receiving chocolates and roses, to me it was a constant reminder that I was alone. And I was celebrating Valentine’s Day alone. Yet again.
If this is you, then keep reading (and if this isn’t you, then [please] keep reading! ?). Valentine’s Day is not just for couples, it’s a time to celebrate ALL aspects of love. A big part of that is celebrating you. And guess what, you are loved. You are loved immeasurably more than you could even imagine! When you realize just how much your Heavenly Father loves you, it completes you in a way that no man ever could.
And thank GOD for that because no human could ever love you enough to make you feel complete.I know that one from personal experience. And geez what pressure! To depend on another mere mortal to fill you up and supply the endless amounts of love that our hearts desire? It’s WAY too much pressure. No matter how loving and good intentioned people may be, we all screw up. But our HeavenlyFather doesn’t screw up.
He has endless amounts of love to pour into our hearts. His love is vast and endless and unconditional. His love is a kind of love that we can always depend on. When we rely on Him and His love, we aren’t being needy. We aren’t being too emotional. Instead He relishes in our company and He loves every second of our time with Him.
Instead, this Valentine’s Day, if you don’t have a significant other , then celebrate the love that IS in your life. Look around you, there is always something to be thankful for. ❤
And you just never know! When you start to feel whole and complete in who you are and who God has created you to be, then maybe that special someone will pop into your life. At least, that’s also what I know to be true from personal experience. ?
Sending you all the love in the world this Valentine’s Day. Xx
Tiffany
