If you’re looking for the best coffee shops in Venice Beach, then I’ve got you covered! I am a coffee fanatic and it didn’t take me long to find some amazing coffee shops in Venice Beach.
But since you most likely don’t know me, you might not appreciate just how meticulously I judge a coffee shop before I deem it good enough to write about.
I am picky.
But not in a rude way. I won’t say anything negative, however my friends who know me well can tell by just a quick look on my face if I’m impressed or not.
To be completely honest, most of the time I’m not. However, Venice Beach seriously has some cool coffee shops, and I am so excited to share them with you!
I can’t lie tho, I had some help creating this list from my friend who is a Venice Beach local – and also a self-proclaimed coffee snob.
So after checking out LOTS of different coffee shops in Venice Beach, we definitely found some winners. I am so excited to report that Venice Beach has a super impressive selection.
It definitely seems like those SoCal surf hipsters sure know how to make a quality brew. Try any best Venice Beach coffee shops listed below and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed in any of them. 🙂
Hands Down the 5 Best Coffee Shops in Venice Beach
1. Intelligentsia Coffee (Abbot Kinney)
If you could go to only one coffee shop in Venice Beach, I’d steer you towards Intelligentsia. Not that they need the publicity, they’re already an Abbott Kenny staple. They’ve been here forever and it’s really more of an experience than anything.
Intelligentsia is more of a snazzy coffee bar. They have a loft-style, open floor plan where you take a seat, and are waited on just like a cocktail bar. Talk about service. 🙂

2. Blue Bottle Coffee (Abbott Kinney)
Blue Bottle Coffee is a roaster originally out of San Francisco. They brew solid coffee, with a fan favorite being the New Orleans iced coffee. The interiors have a minimalistic feel, complete with natural wood counter tops and shelving.
3. Groundworks Coffee Co. (multiple locations)
Raise your hand if you’re a hipster! Fabulous, you’ll love it here. Groundworks exudes a more hipster-y (I know that’s not a word ?) vibe than the others. You’ll want to keep ordering more just so you can enjoy the atmosphere longer.
There are multiple locations around Venice Beach, however I favored the one on Rose Avenue. This one’s larger, has a more laid-back feel, and comes complete with an indoor brick wall. #winning
4. Menotti’s Coffee Shop (near the boardwalk)
Menotti’s Coffee Shop is the most adorable and quaint little coffee shop, ever. It’s located near the boardwalk and has a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. Their coffee is amazing, and can create anything you can think of, including a Spanish latte.
5. TOMS Flagship Store (Abbot Kinney)
Are you familiar with the shoe brand, TOMS? I’m sure you’ve heard of it. The shoe company that donates part of the proceeds of every purchase towards helping someone in need. Their flagship store is located in Abbott Kinney where you’ll also find TOMS Roasting Co.
The interior is a super laid-back rustic atmosphere, where you can enjoy a cup of amazing coffee. On top of that, with every TOMS Roasting Co. purchase, TOMS will help provide safe water to a person in need. So enjoy some good coffee with a great cause.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this list of the best coffee shops in Venice Beach! As much as I love coffee, Venice Beach in general is seriously amazing. If you plan on spending a few days here, keep reading some more of my posts on what to do in Venice Beach!
